In collaboration with Dubai Chess & Culture Club, Times Square Center invites the community to celebrate International Chess Day with a full day of strategy, skill and spirited competition. Taking place on Saturday, July 19 from 1pm to 9pm, the open community tournament will feature two exciting play formats: junior blitz and open blitz. Celebrating miniature geniuses, the event also supports the mall’s Edutainment concept, a blend of education and entertainment designed to engage and inspire young minds.
Officially recognised by the United Nations and celebrated globally since 1966, International Chess Day is all about uniting people through a shared love of the game. Since 2016, Times Square Center has proudly partnered with Dubai Chess & Culture Club to host this special event.
On this occasion, Mr. Saeed Yousuf Shakari, Secretary General of Dubai Chess and Culture Club shares, “The International Chess Day is an opportunity for chess lovers worldwide to unite to play and promote this game in their communities. It is not just about squares and pieces; it is a celebration of chess as a powerful educational and cultural force.”
